The old cot bed is flat against the back wall with an old tattered blanket thrown across.
The Subject is not here right now, its time for her "treatment" but you are not alone here.

Mistress Merliah Rochfort

Back Story:
Some people are born great. other have greatness thrust upon them.
For Merliah it was the first one. She was brought up in one of the higher cells in the Asylum where their was something called a "window" and "sunlight".Her mother was a Mistress as was her mother before her and before her. Looking back into her lines Merliah would be the 13th mistress of her Family line.
But one day that all changed. Apparently the people in charge did not like rats in their offices and people with gas were called.
Merliah and her mother, along with a scouting party, were out of the nest when they arrived and hearing the squeaks of pain from their pack they fled down with a few that managed to escape.
Sadly Merliah's mother was not so lucky in the escape she inhaled some of the gas and after helping form a new home in the lower cells she passed on.
They all tuned to Merliah for guidance and she took charge even being so young.
So young Merliah uses others to be her enforcers in their currently small pack but she is nothing but kind.
She has a strange hidden knowledge of how things should and could work. As such most of her pack bring her all little bits and nick nacks they can find.
She is now worrying about the future of her pack as their is only one buck and several does they dont get long.

Personality:
Shy and quiet. she is a very good listener and has very keen scenes.
Normally you would never see her but as she is worrying about her pack she is venturing out more.

Jareth

Back Story:
Not much is know about Jareth, he simply glided into the cell one day and made himself at home in one of the higher holes in the wall.
He only seems to be interested in talking the Mistress Merliah, and she is the only one he ever gets the name right.
He often refers to himself as "King" but the other humour him with this as he tends to sulk in his hole for days if they don't call him by his title.
Mistress Merliah want to keep him in good graces to act as a look out for them so she calls him "King" more out of self need then thinking him a king.

Personality:
Aloof and proud of himself.
he likes collecting anything glittery and small round objects.

Captain Madden

Back Story:
Born into a large litter Madden was one of 19. but not just any one she was the runt. Baby 19 that was almost missed.
She was the last feed and most times she was pushed back by her brothers and sisters.
But Luck smiled on her and another doe had a smaller littler of just 2 and more or less adopted Madden.
Her birth mother never named her, as she though she wouldn't survive, so for along time she was simply called runt.
She grew small but fast and agile a lot quicker then the others.
And on her first outing with the family hunting for food she managed to bring down a large Centipede by herself.
The though of going after something like that alone was maddening. So that's what she called herself.
Her actions had proven herself to be worth something to the family and she was sent to learn with one of the best hunters in the family.
She was out with a hunting party when tragedy hit the family and she was forced to flee with her small group.

Personality:
Very sharp minded and loyal to her Mistress.
Anything her her Mistress asks she will not question.

Captain Madden

Back Story:
Contessa Midori was brought up in the gardens outside the Asylum for the first few weeks of her life. Sadly a run in with a wild cat sent her tumbling down a thin crack and into the Asylum.
She was taken in by a small group on the run and that where she stayed.

Personality:
Happy and kind, all ways willing to lend a paw to help others.

Dame Morwen(Maid; great or white Sea)

Back Story:
Born to one of the lab rats trapped in a cage her mother passed her through the bars to a free rat. Sadly Morwen was the only one of her litter to survive, but she seems to be different to the others in her group.
She unnerves some of the others as she refuses to walk on all fours and only walks on her hind legs, as not to get her front paws dirty.

Personality:
Silent and strict. Always backs up Captain Madden, she feels a connection with her.

Marina had a normal upbringing, well as normal as you can have in the Asylum.
She loves to collect things and is a mediocre hunter.
Personality:
Relaxed and chatty, unless she's working they she's quiet and alert

Back Story:
Misika is Captain Maddens Sister.
Where Madden was the runt Misika was the alpha. She was the first to feed, the first to be groomed by her mother and always given first choice when food was brought.
She grew up strong willed and very picky, sadly when the gas came she was the only one of the family to make it out alive, now she's trying to reassert her place and high ranking.

Personality:
Aloof she dislikes that her Runt of a sister is classed higher then her.

Back Story:
Unlike the rats that travelled TO this cell Mable has always lived in this room.
She was brought in by the last resident of this room from far away.
When she was taken away the final time Mable stayed in the room awaiting her return. Sadly she never returned.
When the new inmate was brought in Mable was the first to go and see her.
She fits in well with the new rats that have moved into her cell.
She has her own home in the cell away from the other rats, but she does join them in hunting and gathering.

Personality:
Open and caring, often to trusting of humans.

Professor Buford Fearnan

Back Story:
The Professor is Merliah Tutor and oldest friend, He was with her during most of her life and knows all the horrors that came to happen.
He has a fondness for Merliah but knows he can not act upon it due to her station.
Still he is happy to fulfil any and every request she makes of him, including breedings with other does.

Calm and calculating, but will drop everything for Merliah
